Just my second question here. I have a 55gal mini predator/aggressive fish tank right now that's 7 months old and I'm now in the process of setting up a 125 predator tank. I'm planning on only 3 or 4 fish with no corals. So far I have decided on getting a Clown Trigger and some kind of puffer. I'm not sure if I should grow out the Clown Trigger from the little guy I have right now or purchase a much larger one. Of course I know the Clown Trigger is VERY aggressive but I was also told that if I get one that was harvested at a large size and not tank grown that it would be just too aggressive to put in with anything else, even in a 125gal.
Also, what puffer would be recommended for this tank?
Thanks,
Dave

I am also looking to set up an agressive fish tank.
From your experience with the 55 Gallon tank, is it harder to maintian compared to a regular reef tank?
Thanks for any input :)

Since a predator tank usually has only a few occupants I don't find it very difficult to maintain. But since any clean-up crew would probably get eaten, algae and any other nasty stuff has to be cleaned by me.

I've been doing alot of reading on the Clown Trigger with most of the tales expressing how it is a menace and will eventually have to have it's own tank.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has kept a Clown Trigger over 6 inches and how it worked out. Second hand stories are OK too.
Thanks,
Dave

My LFS has a 100 gallon with 3 types of tangs a dog face puffer and a clown trigger. So far the only thing the trigger has eaten is a yellow tang but I have a feeling it want be long until the others get it.
There was a customer that leaned on the tank with his arm and the trigger jumped out of the water and bite him.
