I would not place a niger triger in your reef tank: http://store.yahoo.com/marinedepotlive/763814.html

triggers will eat ANYTHING..that incudes fish, crustations(they really like em) and they even eat ROCK...and for the most part anything that grows on rock
my brother had a nice tank setup and decided to get a humma trigger, which we later named ternimator...cuz he basicly killed every other living thing in the tank except the puffer :?

This is proof of definite individuality in Triggers. There are some Nigers that are the sweetest fish that can occupy a tank. Then there are others that make Queen, Undulate, and Titan Triggers look peaceful. Rarely are fish on either side of the spectrum found in the hobby, but all triggs are different, and just because something works when a juvie does not mean a thing when the fish turns adult. I personally would never trust a Trigger in a reef except the Blue Throat Trigger. This is the best trigger for reefs and the most predictable of triggs. Just make sure that if you go with the Niger that they grow to close to 2 feet and will require a minimum of a 180 when adult. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck

i wouldn't do it. most kinds of triggers will eat inverts and nip at rocks and eat smaller fish. they should be in a fish only tank or fowlr maybe.
