So I am borrowing my friends digital slr camera its an olympus evolt e300. Does anybody use this one? He dosen't have a tank so he wasn't sure how to get the best pictures of the fish tank. Any tips to help me use this better. I only have it for a week so I would really appreciate any type of advice on useing these type of cameras.
Thanks!

Experiment with the shutter speeds and aperture settings.

Ricky how should the lighting be in the room? Since my tank is in the wall should I have alot of light in the room or should I turn them off?

yes, turn the lights off and put the blinds down if you have windows. I still have some light shoot through the windows so I put up a blanket to make the room dark. Any background light will show up in the tank picture.

put the camera in manual using a low f-stop (not sure exactly which since it depends on the lens). After that, raise the ISO so you can get a shutter speed of 1/100-1/200 or higher, but try not to raise the ISO past 400-800 or your photos may look grainy. Hope that helps
