I have a small clownfish and a medium sized clownfish. They are both false percula. They usually hang around the bottom left hand corner. Recently, they seem to shake there whole bodys at eachother. They seem to do it near the or against a shell. They also used to do it in a Conch shell they slept in. They eat fine. They look fine. So, Why are they doing this?
Thanks

if the clowns a shaking/rubbing on the shell, it likely well may be ich...

I don't see any Ich on them
Could it be anything else?

If there is no sign of illness and they are not directly rubbing on anything, then it is most likely a form of mating behavior.
The male clown will often "dance" for the female and she will then respond and do the same. It's like a darting motion followed by a body tremor.
Do you notice them biting and/or scraping the rocks with their mouths' in one certain area?

I have not noticed them doing anything with their mouths but I'll watch for it
I took out the big Conch shell a while ago. Last night when I bought some more live rock I took out a flat white shell that they rub on also. They have stopped rubbing now. Should I put it back in the tank?
Thanks

They did it on a flat white shell. I took the shell out and they stopped. Today I put the shell back in and they continued. I don't see any Ich.
Do you think they want to breed?
Thanks

Do you think they want to breed?
Sounds like it. Keep watchful just incase, but I don't think you need to worry.

Mine did the same thing. It looks like one is having a seizure right.

Yeah One rubs really fast on rocks. Then another follows.
Did yours breed?
Thanks
