Do horseshoe crabs normally burrow in the sand? I bought my horseshoe crab about a month ago, and he always seems to dig in the sand. I only see him every couple of days, is this normal?
thx

Very normal for these guys. They will spend much of their time sifting the sand looking for food. Horseshoe crabs are generally not the best idea for a reef tank as they will eat much of the animals that live in the sand and reduce your filtration capabilities. They also require alot of surface area that live rock would remove in a FOWLR or reef tank.
Also keep in mind that these guys can get very large over time.
Cheers
Steve
