You must set the ad_network_ads_240.txt file to be writable (check file name as well).

non-toxic latex/acrylic paint should be ok...

you could find some at a craft store. much like the paint elementary kids use; and the type of paint used for face painting.

Pool paint?

A LFS owner that I knew years back used it in making plywood marine tanks for display tanks. Never had a problem with it.
