This month's photo contest will be featuring HITCHHIKER'S. Anything that crawled out of some rock or coral you bought is fair game. Good luck everyone !

Here are some feather dusters and a bi-valve. I'm kind of amazed at how long these worms live. I've had that little rock for like 5 years and they are still there.

Purple Montipora Cap?

I'm hoping it's something more exotic. It came in on a LE Bali-tri color. I think it has blue polyps and it has ridges on it, whereas my caps are more flat. It's growing too slow to be a cap IMO.

That looks similar to this one. The color is a little lighter in this one. My LFS has the mother that wouldn't fit into my tank. It is purple with really small light blue polyps in person. The ridges don't seem as pronounced in the larger colony. I don't know what it is either and I wouldn't even want to venture a guess.

This urchin was a hitchhiker from the Tampa Bay Saltwater live rock, it's been in the tank for three years. It's black, it grows, and it eats my lovely coralline like a champ (the bastard). It hates daylight and seems to prefer to munch on the lighter pink coralline, giving my darker and more fancy coraline an advantage. Sometimes it bums me out when it really goes to town on a rock though.

In the picture the white splotches in the coralline below him are from his eating. I see him poop out pink dust sometimes (it's mostly white though).

baby disc coral base at died disc coral body .

Actually anthocaulli from a Fungia coral. That can be a gold mine for you, they should just keep being produced from the dead skeleton. Just let them pop off on their own and you can sell or trade them.

I use a Samsung SCH A990 it also has a 3.2MP I got it a little over a year ago simply because it was the best camera phone avail. it still serves me well while I dont have any other camera anymore (causing the lack of POTM entries) When I use the 3.2MP I use 2048x1536

I hear that new Nokia N73 is pretty good too.

You guy's have to the end of the Month to get in your last minute pictures. Let's see some more.

As an added incentive this month, the winner of the contest will be sent a bottle of Pinpoint 53 ms salinity calibration solution. This can be used to correctly calibrate your refractometer. It's an inexpensive prize, but hey, it's a prize.
