Hello evreyone. Not quite sure where I jump in. I just built my first tank (125 gallons no leaks) after only enjoying the hobbie for six years, all fresh water. My intentions are to make this new tank "reef ready," which I think I can do by drilling a few holes and building an over flow out of some scrap glass I have. I know I'm taking a big leap , but this new tank I'm hoping will be the begining of my experiences with salt water. A little nervous but I'm glad I found this forum and I am willing to spend reasonably. Any suggestions from drilling the holes to building the overflow will be greatly appreciated. I have been working on building a sump out of an old 20 gallon tank I have.

People are telling me that getting those holes for the overflow in the glass is going to be a sticky situation. That's problem number one. Problem number two is the amount of jealousy that my wife got on display. I'm afraid she's going to do something crazy to my tank while I'm outside the house. HA! HA! I think I can fix both of these problems. I was thinking that I shoud have probably took care of problem number one before I put the thing together, but it started out as a fresh water idea (maybe a 2x4 frame to fit the inside of the tank will give me the support I'm going to need). I will try to get the pictures up by the end of next week.
