Hi,
I bought a bag of ReefJanitor's from GARF.org (they're GREAAAAT!). Shortly after delivery (and some salinity changing water changes), this snail started laying what I believe are snail eggs.. shortly after, some other snail's visited the area (pollinating?). Here's a link to the actual snail doing the laying http://www.nancysnuwave.com/aquarium/snail_eggs.jpg

Anyway, if someone could confirm or correct the identity of these puppies, and if there are any suggestions on feasibility of actually protecting some for - well for whatever - adding to the snail population of the world? It would be appreciated

First off - species? gestation? (if that's the right word)... propagation.. (I better quit prior to liti-gation..). Thanks for a nice website!

Not much on the net as far as propagation or care for marine snail eggs. Barring predatation, your Astrea snail young'uns should take care of themselves. I don't keep them so I could give you a time frame.

Hopefully they will grow and mature and you can offer them in trade at the LFS..

Best of luck 8)

Cheers
Steve
