I want to set up a 100g tank (eco-system filtration) for one mardarin, this will be the fish in the tank. but apart from corals, what other inverts would be good to put in.
- Thanks in advance for any replies.

Maybe a variety of snails (turbo, astrea, cerith, nassarius, margarita etc..), some shrimps and maybe a few reef safe star fish (linkia, brittle, etc..). You can add crabs, but they often turn out to be bullies and fight or kill snails if you don't have an adundance of empty shells laying around. HTH

I have heard that a mandarin is best left for a tank that has been established for a long while. I would double check to see if it is wise to add one to a new setup.

Matrixnyc is correct you should not add a mandarin to a new tank. They are specialized feeders on copepods from the LR. The research I have done indicates that 6 months is the minimum the tank should be set up before adding mandarins.

I agree with the above, but definitely congrats to you for setting up a large and dedicated tank. I would go ahead and stock some inverts and let the tank sit for awhile, with the inverts in it won't seem lifeless.
