But wait ! Aren't those delicate creatures that need stability constantly ?? LMAO

Wow mike i think with that you can start huge debates with many expert hobbiests. It makes sense to me. Its amazing a full acro colony about a foot in length bakes under the sun and lives

It's been gone through. The thing is that the coral themselves don't need stability, it's the coral system that we keep them in. In simpler terms it's the bacteria in the tank that dictate everything. Keep them happy, happy tank. Piss them off, unhappy tank.

what bacteria are we talking about here? can you elaborate your simple terms :)

Chemoautotrophic bacteria that we ask to instantly consume ammonia and nitrite, and to a lesser extent the Heterotrophic bacteria that consume nitrate. They are the single thing that makes a fish tank possible.

Wouldn't it also effect the the bacteria that live/grow on the corals themselves that they use a source of nutrition? Or are the strains used in the nitrogen cycle the same ones that grow on the corals?

There are many different bacteria on the surface of coral, but the tank is not relying on that for the transformation of toxic ammonia.

I dont get it when I started into reef tanks I could barely keep one alive in the water.
