They're necessary for raising fish fry, but they aren't very nutritious, so I haven't bothered with them.

they take more time than they are worth and I am told I spend to much time in my tank already but I did it for a little while but quit since it was unnecessary time

I feed newly hatced brine to my Anthias and he loves it. The Blue/Green Chromis like them as well along with my McCosker's wrasse. The shrimp are too small to feed to my three tangs but the Purple tang does try to eat them once in awhile. I think the brine shrimp work wonders for corals that need to be fed. My toadstool puts its sweepers out when I add the brine shrimp to the tank along with my Trumpet Coral and Galaxea. I don't use the in-tank hatchery. I use the two liter coke bottle kit with an air pump.
