I have a colt coral that has started to look very bad either starting to die or gone dormant. Here is a little history of what happened before it started looking bad. About a week ago I had a 185G Acrylic tank crack down the front. Long story short I did an emergency tank replacement the next day. All inhabitants seem to have bounced back except the Colt. It was thriving before the tank swap and it is in the same enviornment as before. Any ideas as to what I can do to try and save this Colt or make it happy?

Chances are you lost alot of water from the damaged tank and needed to replace most of it? I find with certain soft corals, that they will often go dormant when a large amount of new water is intruduced.
That combined with moving it and the possible holding time waiting for it's new home to be set up, would stress it a fair amount.
As long as you are not seeing any necrosis or other tissue damage, I think it is just simpley going through a re-acclimation period and could be like that for a bit longer. Give it time and keep monitoring it's condition.

I am wondering if I should move it to a lower spot in the tank. It doesn't appear to be doing any better but the good thing is it dosen't appear to be getting worse.

It's actually only been a couple of days. As long as you have tried to match the original conditions and placement as the other tank prior to the damage, then I would give it more time.
If you have placed it somewhere new, relative to the old set up it will need some adjustment time and again I would recommend patience....
Do you know the exact type of colt? Looks like a Alcyonium Linnaeus (http://www.exotictropicals.com/encyclo/fishnchips/feb99/feb99.htm#Cauliflower%20Coral)
