Kewl Phisto,
I gotta admit your tank looks a lot better than mine. It still look pretty much the same today, the only different is that I added a small frag of candycane, and a small frag of button polyps and a cleaner shrimp. How's your tank doing?

it's doing well...we must've got our candycanes at the same time...

i'm still missing my spotted anemone shrimp though...

anyhow, in time and with much patience, our tanks will grow into fully stocked reefs!

looks great!!
Is that a retro fit or hood?
I have one suggestion. i saw an awesome 10g with a 96w Power quad. did you ever think of going with a brighter bulb.

Check it out you currently have 3.2 watts a gallon which is good for softies, but if you have the powerquad you'll have 9.6 watts a gallon you can have SPS. Even with the 55w kit it will be awesome.
Just an idea for a new tank!!

Is that really a true percula clow? A.Percula ?

Irisservice, the light is a retrofit kit from CSL. I wish I can put better lighting in my tank, but I can only fit this CSL PC 32watts smartlamp in the hood that came with the tank. I don't have the time or knowledge to build one, and no money to get a prebuilt canopy :-( . It is definitely on my list as one of the items to upgrade tho.

Here are the latest pics for my tank. I rearranged the rocks and added a green brain and some shroom.

Is that really a true percula clow? A.Percula ?

Cant tell but...

Percula true vs Percula false..

note the thicker bands and black fin are dead giveaways...

I actually prefer the cleaner ocellaris stripes to the percula, but thats just my opinion!

i'm willing to bet that it is a tank raised false perc...especially if you paid less than $20 for the fish...

damsel(s) with a clown? I'm surprized the clown still has fins... those yellow tails blew damsels are incredible aggressive and territorial fish. Good luck with it!

I am pritty sure yellow tails are the least aggressive .

I've had all types of fish with yellow tail damsels. If you have lots of hiding space its really not a problem. My mother has one in her tank with a pair of false percs and a neon gobie, no probs.

My yellow tail is really passive. If anything, it's probably the least aggresive fish in my tank. Maybe cuz it's also the smallest.

about the yellow tails, I have had one with two clowns for about 2 years and they were fine until just reciently when I bought my new lighting ever since the lighting purchase the damsel has been picking on one of the clowns but he leaves the bigger clown and the blue tang alone. I want to get rid of the damsel because he is becoming mean but my mom says no she has grown atttached I guess. Anyway my recomendation is get rid of it now b4 you get attached( or someone else does). I dont really think the lighting made him agressive I actually think he has just gotten meaner with age now that he is old he is mean.

Yes my damsels were experiment fish. I've had 3 in my career.

I purchased 2 at the begining on my reef career.

#1 (aka Bob) was killed by #2 (aka Bob)

#2 was then caught by Jake and flushed down the toliet.

Jake then received #3 (aka Bob) from a friend who didn't want him anymore. Jake then used him for his nano test fish, which my friend paul dumped a 4 oz can of flake food into. I tore it down and is replaced by 20. Sadly there was no place for Bob to go. He was definately not going into the 40. So Bob went splat.

Wish mine would just disapear, you know anybody who can make that happen?

For you people who have unwanted damsels in your tank, you can get "the trap" from www.transfishsupplies.com for 27.99 after shipping. Once you catch them you can take them back to the lfs, which is the HUMANE way to get rid of a unwanted fish!
