I've had him for a few weeks. He's been eating great, very active. My water conditions are fine. I have noticed my domino damsel harrasing him. Could the damsel have killed the blenny last night? I'm at a loss to find any other plausible explanation..

very possible...

i attribute the death of my sailfin blennie to aggression from a clown...

were there any visible signs of injury, or contusions?

Not really, I noticed an irregularity behind his gill, but it looked the same on the other side.

Could he have starved? He was eating what all the other fish eat, some flake food I usually feed twice a day. He ate like a horse. In fact he would nearly jump out of the water towards my hand as I lowered it down to submerge the food. Does this mean he was starving or was he just a good eater?

it's hard to say...in all honesty, i'm not a fish guy.

it may be possible to attribute it to a couple of factors...

the damsel could have been aggressively threatening the fish, not only for territory, but also for food. thus he could have been trying to eat as much as he could when he had the oppurtunity.

he couls have had a internal parasite, or bacterial infection. though there were no outward signs of declining health (at least none that you were able to identify) he could have been shipped to the LFS with such a problem. it's possible to suspect gill flukes, but loss of appetite usually occurs.

you never noticed any unusual signs? heavy, labored breathing?

I didn't notice anything unusual, but then again I don't really know what to look for. I didn't see any labored breathing from him.
