I have a 12 gal. Nano and I purchased a piece of zoo rock that is too big for the tank. (See my reef pics) The rock looked nice enough in the LFS display, but that tank was way bigger.
Is there a way I can "scrape" some of the zoo's off the rock, place them onto some rock in my tank and take the massive piece back?

if you can...might be easier....chisel the rock until it fits or if the zoos are matted you could just peel them off and superglue them to a little rock

Usually by taking a cold chisel and a hammer to the rock you can split it easliy. If you chip smaller pieces of zoos off while doing so then super glue then to smaller rocks or pieces of the rubble you just made......*** Trading Material*** You will have little negative effect to the zoos. just rinse the rubble and any zoos off well before placing into your main tank.

Yes, use a razor blade to get under the base of the zoos and peel them off the rock. Use gloves and eye gear because zoos release toxins which affect some people worse than others. Take a good chunk from the base and use super glue gel to secure it to a suitable pice of rock for your nano. Then you can return the rock you purchased.
