Once the flesh has receded from the skelatal structure it is most likely corals of this type will not regrow. I have seen regrowth with certain types of brains, trumpets and plates but none like torch's, frogs, or branching hammers.

If the branch itself shows no sign of tissue it will most definately not regenerate. Once the coral has had some time to settle and grows beyond the dead branch's where it gives you the space, you can frag away the dead spots. I would leave that for much later though.

Cheers
Steve

FYI--Fiji Live Rock, I moved your post to its own thread in the "Anything Goes" section to keep information for lroo67 from being mixed in with off-topic conversation. You can get to the thread here:

I completely agree with every Steve said.

If there's any sign of tissue, most likely it will regenerate if under the proper conditions. If no tissue is showing, then it will not grow back to the way it orginially was.

As steve already meatentioned, the dead spots will soon be un-noticable once the coral starts rapidly growing. At that time, you may cut the dead head off, if there is no tissue growing on it at that time.
