I went to the Oregon coast aquarium in newport last week. That place is so awesome! It has tons of exhibits and 3 acrylic tunnels surrounded by water that you walk through which was my favorite. In one of the tunnels called the Open Ocean, there are sharks swimming all around you.
Here are some pictures i took while i was there.

awesome pictures! looks like i'll have to put it on the list of aquariums to visit. while i was in the south, i should have taken the time to go to the world's largest aquarium in Atlanta.

other favorites of mine here in the U.S. are:

John G. Shedd (http://www.sheddaquarium.org/)(Chicago, IL)

Seattle Aquarium (http://www.seattleaquarium.org/) (Seattle, WA)

We've only been in Vancouver WA about 3 yrs, but we've already taken the kids down to the OR Aquarium twice.. It's a great place! Good pics! The Seattle Aquarium is good too.

The Aquarium of the Americas in New Orleans was phenomenol, but I understand that all the water livestock died during Katrina. (They were able to save things like penguins, apparently) .. I've been wondering what's going on with rebuilding it...

yeah, ive heard alot of good reviews about the Aquatium In new Orleans. I read that the livestock died because the lack of electricity prevented the pumps to deliver enough oxygen. The aquarium had over 10,000 fish and 530 species!
