Hi everyone...........I'm new to this forum and new to marine fish keeping. I've been keeping cichlids (Frontosa) for some time but recently decided to set up a marine tank and see how it goes.
The reason for this post is can someone tell me what this is called, what family it is from, and it's requirements?? Thanks, and this seems like a really informative site.

looks like indonesian Anthelia xenia...but it bears a striking resemblance to a related species Capnella imbricata. sweet looking purple!

That specific coral requires HIGH lighting (MH) and good-Moderate water flow to live. Make sure you have both...or get them soon if you want it to stay healthy.
(That kind of coral is my favorite cause it looks like hands grabbing at the water. )
