Howdy All !!!

First time post.

Looking for drawings or info on fabricating a "Hang on Filter - Skimmer" (24" wide by 16 high, approx., not in stone, open to other sizes).

Used to have a 60 gal. tank for 7 years but had to let it go, so after 4 years of "No Tanks", just getting back into setting up a 30 gal. system .

Built my old system (except for the tank) from scratch (Lighting, hood, filtration, etc.) and this time I'm looking to go with a hang on filter instead of the canister filter that I built.

Some of the other aspects that I looking into setting up -
_____________________________________
Tank -
Live sand - 2 to 3'' worth.
Live rock - 25 lbs. or so.
Invert's and fish.
_____________________________________
Light hood -
2 - 28 watt compact lamps.
1 - 70 watt metal halide
1 or 2 - 22 watt, 24" flor. tube lamp.
Polished reflector
Cooling fan(s)
_____________________________________
Filtration -
2 - power heads
Hang on Filter - Skimmer (As soon as I can find the info)
_____________________________________
Control system -
AutomationDirect PLC for controlling / monitoring of tank lighting cycle and pump/powerhead control (possibly set up for temperature / pH controlling - monitoring)

Lighting cycle - Adjustable ON - OFF times / duration, having the lights staging so the 22 watt comes on first then, the 28's, the MH, then in reverse order or any other scheme.

Powerhead(s) - alternating & adjustable ON - OFF times / duration*. To simulate currents
Pump - monitor level and possibly control speed*

*Also at feeding time, would push a button and the pump/powerhead(s) would shutdown for 15 minutes or so (can be programmed for any duration)

Would appreciate any and all feedback on the approach that I'm going in.

Thanks !!!!!
