basically my problem is I am not sure how to get it all to work I know I need to go buy an ovrflow. but the biggest sump I can fit under the stand is a 10g it is as wide as I can go it barley fit. My tank is only 29g so..... anyway how do I hook up the overflow to the sump. My main problem is figuring out how to get the return set up. I dont want to put more water in the 10g than it will take. I am currently trying to decide if I am going to just make a fuge or If I want to go with a sump. I know that is a decision I need to make fast because a fuge will need a lower water flow rate anyway how do I do this? Any ideas wold be much apreciated also links to sites with info would help alot thx.

I am thinking if I go fuge I might devide it into two and have lr in half and algae in half. I like the idea of having a bigger volume of water.

will a 13w pc from hellolights be good enough to light a fuge or do I need something better? I already got the 10g tank and tommaro or saturday I am going to go to the lfs to look at overflows.

oh yeah a really important ? what do I use to connect the pvc pipe. will just normal pvc pipe glue work or do I need something special to makeit reef safe? I was thinking normal would be ok because we use it on our plumbing for drinking water so....but I am not sure

plz help sorry I rambled on so long.

Wow... don't know where to start so I'll just ramble  .

Have you looked into a rubbermade tub. The type they sell at wal-mart will work and come in all types of shapes and sizes.

If you are setting up a 10g sump or fuge the 10g tank's water level will need to be low enough to hold the rundown from the main tank if the power goes out...

IMO, the 13w PC would be fine for a 10g fuge. But, the more light the more growth.

The supply and return... Your right on needing an overflow for your sump/fuge supply. On the return you will need to make sure you have a siphon break in the main tank so you don't get to much backflow. You could also use a couple 90 deg elbows at the main tank to make the flow go out across the tank and not be to far in the water... if that makes sense.

Not sure on the glue. I currently have everything ran with tubing, but I do plan to hard pipe it...

I also had a spacing problem... Here was my solution.

I know, I know, I've heard it from my wife a 100 times... "Why did you put that ugly tank next to the display tank" I like it... and it works well.
