Admin,

Since i am new here and notice your board is new as well, could u tell me since i know that dif boards have dif meanings for the moderators, what is a moderator on this board ?

1- just someone that keeps bad language and bs to a min and deleates post if neccesary etc,

2- or are they considered to be some one that has been in the hobby for a while and has lots of experience

It would be someone who is knowledgable on the subject, someone to make sure people stay on the topic (flames), someone to move topics to the right area, and keep the board running clean everyday. That would be the best I could explain it :-)

Almarktool, welcome to our forum.

Your question is a valid one, the moderators on this board are here to assist our members and provide a friendly environment.

They are not to be considered experts in any field or area. We like our members to be able to get information from each other and then derive their own opinion on the questions.

We feel that if we label anyone as an expert, it may keep other members from adding their views or opinions to the discussion.

We hope you find our site useful and continue to make use of it.

Thank you

Almarktool...

I've been reef keeping for over several years now...

Currently i'm most interested in soft corals, and invertebrates...

I have a 25 gallon nano-reef, dedicated to mostly inverts...though I do still have an intrest in fish.

While I don't consider myself to be an "expert" in the hobby...I do consider myself experienced, and well versed. I'm here on this board as a learning engine, much as we all are. I offered my assistance and time to the "well-keeping" of this forum, in order to help new members, as well as old friends from various other boards...I welcome any questions you have for myself, or any other member...

Hope I can lend support. Thank you for registering, and I hope you enjoy your stay here...

For what its worth, here is my Background :D

I have been keep aquariums for the past 10+ years. I started working with a FOWLR about 6 years ago, since then I have progressed to other tanks (100+ gallon range) keeping mostly SPS and Clams. I am currently working on 300 gallon Reef. I have about $15,000.00 invested (and growing), and I should start leak testing next week.

see post http://www.reeflounge.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=85 for more information on my tank :)

I have an 80 gallon reef (mixed), a 29 gallon brakish tank, housing 4 very small green spotted puffers (eclipes tank), 40 gallon planted tank (looking quite nice now- new), and 20 gallon goldfish tank.

I have always been interested in marine animals, and have been in the reef hobby for about a year or two, brakish for about 3 years, and freshwater for 4 years. Even in that short time, I have learned so much about this hobby, spending most of my spare time online really learning about this hobby, and really deticated myself to learn more about the water world and continue to learn something new everyday.

Now I look back at myself, and realise how much I have learned, and how much I know, and it really amazes me sometimes how far I have come :-)

My hobbies include...you guessed it...reefs! I also like photography, but not as much as the water world
