Ready for pumps, are you ready for questions?

Thanks as always folks :wink: , Tank, lights, sump, skimmer all arrived and now it's time for some pump shopping. Question is, how good are those Gen-X 8500 (submersible) pumps? Do they produce alot of heat? Are they quiet enough for the living room? How about the Gen-X PCX40 (non-submersible)...same questions. It's to be used for a return from the sump to an 80 gallon tank with approx 3 foot rise. I have a dual bulkhead overflow box to the sump. I appreciate your time and help. Slowly moving ahead...as quickly as the wallet allows :D

I am not real familiar with return pumps for sumps. My best advise is stay away from Rio pumps, they are proven junkers. In other words, this is a free bump so maybe someone else can help you. :mrgreen:
