so you just cut it in half or whatever just like that? HOw long do yours take to grow mike? I've had mine in my tank for about... 4 months or so now and haven't noticed anything different then when i put it in... i feed it about 2 times a week perhaps... or are they just slow growing coral

I just bought that one, it was round, a little bigger then a golf ball. My other's are pretty slow grower's compared to some other coral's, but I can notice growth on them. One thing is they need someplace to grow. When it's shaped like a ball it's hard to see it getting bigger, but placed on the glass like that it should start to encrust pretty quick like one of my other favia's did.

You just have to cut through the skeleton. Back towards the base of the branch is best. Some kind of diamond coated cutting tool will make it easier.

The best thing to do is to wait untill it's growing well in your tank, then frag a piece off. But sometimes as with that one I had you just have to do it right away to put it where you want in the tank. I was confident because I already had similar coral in the tank that were growing and I had a hearty species. With your coral you can usually frag it without it even knowing, so just use your best judgement with it.

Good luck.
