Sunday I introduced a yellow tang to my tank, but as of today, has still not eaten. I have not observed any grazing, and nori was ignored. The fish was eating at the store. How long is too long? Should I worry, or will it just take a little time to settle in? I had a tang many years ago that ate everything in sight.

Thanks,

~~

Try putting some brine shrimp into the tank, if it doesn't eat it return the fish.

I brought the "body" back (along with the required water sample) for a refund.

Thanks,

Did they give you store credit or cash?

Store credit, but I would have made the argument for cash had I not needed other supplies anyway. I will no longer by fish from them, but only supplies.

When you are going to get a fish. First step is to research the fish so you know what you want before you go into the store. Don't buy something if you don't know about it. Chances are the LFS is going to make it seem like you can keep it. Second know when their orders come in. When I want a fish from Petco I stand there and wait and get my fish right out of the bag. Less stress from going from bag to tank to bag to tank. Now it's just bag to tank. I just pick the healthiest one and it will usually eat fine.
