How much kalk do each of the units hold?

you can put between 2-3 inches in the bottom of each stirrer. you don't want to put a huge amount as it will all get used, and you don't want to bind the motor. that amount will typically last a month unless you're really pushing a lot of water throught it.

All of your units are different sizes, does one last longer than the other and do they hold more Kalk as well?
Thank You

yes, as the bigger they are, the more kalk they'll hold, up to a point. on a really massive system, say 2500g or more, you're going to be going through a lot of kalk, so it's probably relative in regards to the size of the unit and the size of the system.

Lets say I got the 500s which is rated for a 1000gl tank, I think. Would the Kalk last longer then one mounth if I have a 120gl tank? If so how much longer around. The only reason why I'm asking is because I have one and I'm looking to upgrade. The one I have now last a month and would like to get one to last a longer time in changing the Kalk in the unit.
Thanks

PV...
i have a 500S on my 500g system, and i only add more kalk about once every 6 weeks or so. on smaller systems, it could last much longer, but it really depends on how much top off water you're adding on a nightly basis.

Thank you, that is what I wanted to know. The one I have I use a PH moniter to make sure that Kalk has a ph above 12 at all times. Does your unit have an area for this or it does not need one. You just change the kalk when it is gone? Does Kalk stay above 12 till it is gone. What I have read is that Kalk works at its best when it has a PH of 12 or more. Is this true with your unit. So If I got the 500 one that would last longer on my tank as well then? Since it would be almost 4x larger then my tank?
Thanks

i'm am almost positive that kalk has a natural ph of 12, so you really don't need a ph port (the Deltecs do not have one). you only need to add kalk to the unit when it is all used up, so if you bought the 500S, then it sounds like it would last 4 times longer as you indicated.
