Maybe you could describe the purpose or benifits of joining the usergroup. Right now it just looks like it puts you name in a list of other 'nano-reefers'.

basically the purpose is joining together with like members...like a club. not excluding those without nanos, as i'm sure they're welcome to join too. as far as benefits, that is up to the usergroup mod--being Zack.
also, it's an entirely seperate forum, so you can enjoy posting in both the general forum, as well as the nano usegroup. so it does have an "exclusive" benefit, so to speak...
good question...
Well if you visit it I try my hardest to keep info going weather its with hopps lighting or the articles. I start post so people can see what others are doing and if you are starting a way to get info. Yes there are about 7-8 members who don't have nanos but like being part of the forum to learn about every part of a nano. I have never and will never deny a member unless there is something really bad. Anyway i like the idea!

yes this is true but most post in group because they feel it can get more attention or thats what the pms tell me

how can anyone get to this if they aren't already a nano member?
This forum right here anyone can see, but the usergroup you must be a member, and let me tell you, it is worth the 3 secs it takes to sign up!
I WOULD JUST LIKE TO ADD we are up to several members and when I introduce new members down there they are overwhelmed (in a good way) by all the information. It's a really great place to learn. I know of at least 3 members that signed up without a nano and now are getting one since they have all that information and all! Just wanbted to say thanks to everyone who helped the forum be a better place!!!

Wanted to introduce myself to the group.
I live in Alameda, California and will be picking up my NanoCube aquarium in a few days. My LFS has been setting up my tank for a couple weeks now and I am really excited. In the mean time I have been reading, reading and did I say reading about saltwater aquariums. At first I wasn't going to get the nano Cube because from what I read, it was said to be easier to start with a big tank first.
I'm hoping with your assistance I can keep my tank going and overcome the difficulties that I'm sure will pop up. One can only read so much.
I'll probably start a different thread, sort of like a journal on how it's going and post pictures of the tank. My goal is that when we finally have a house of our own, I can set up a larger tank from scratch.
So for now I will be digging through the threads and post here and there. Hopefully I will run across something useful in my own experiences to pass on to folks.
Thanks in advance and I look forward to reading your write ups.

Nanos rule! although big tanks are cool, it takes skill to maintain such a small ecosystem

how do u modify a tunze 6025 to increase flow
Europa

Use a dremel to cut the plastic flow restrictor off of the inside of the plastic cover. Tunze themselves said that the flow restrictor is the only difference between the 6025 and the higher priced 6045 and that it is present on the 6025 to restrict flow down to around 650 gph. After removing it, the flow will be around 1200 gph.
Here are some before and after shots.
