Hermit Crabs, breeding or fighting?

I think I might have just laid down a serious c%$#-block on my one hermit. It looked like they were fighting so I seperated them. Any good threads out there that deal with crab mating (even more specific Red legs)? I was searching and only found what semed like a bunch of stuff done by 5th graders.

Doc leave your hermits alone. Mine kill each other constantly, but only when they arent too busy killing my snails. The thing I dont understand is I have larger shells in my tank for them to use. Oh well. Its the circle of life Simba.
