Looks cool! Thanks let me ask you how you get the inflow to the fuge to match the outfow (gravity) back to the main tank? and it looks like you have had it up and going for a while has it really a diffrence in the main tank?
Does anyone have miracel mud

I don't use a sump or refug so I would like this to be seconded....but you don't have to match the flows manually. If you increase the flow going in, this will also increase the gravity flow out automatically.

Bearbait,
There is a balance you need to establish between the two. My fuge is located below the main tank. I gravity feed the fuge and use a 180gph pump for return to main tank.
You need to have the right balance of water between the 2 so if one or the other gives out, it will not overflow the fuge or the tank.
I have a plastic gate valve on the gravity fed line so I can keep the flow to match the pump flow.
I use a specimen container ( the one the lfs uses to put your fish in before they bag them) as the overflow. I drill holes in it about 1" down from the top. I then mounted it in the tank and the holes are just below the water line. I had to put a rock in it to keep it from trying to float when the water level drops.
This is where the gravity fed line comes from. If the water level drops below the holes, due to many reasons, most important the pump might fail, then the syphon will stop and not drain the tank.
Now if the syphon stops for any reason, I have the pump on suction cups with the suction right below the water line in the fuge. This way the pump stops pumping when the water drops below it's suction and will not drain the fuge.
Now lets say the pump just gives out, due to maybe power loss. I have the return from the pump located in the main tank right below the water line again. This way when it does lose power and the return line starts to syphon back through the pump into the fuge, it can only get so far and will not drain the tank.
Seems like a lot to keep up with and figure out, but it is really a pretty simple concept.
This works for if the fuge is below or above the tank. Just remember, there is a balance to maintain.
I made my box that holds the fuge as mine has to be out in the open due to space. This way I have the main tank to view and the fuge with it's critters to view. I am really brainstorming to see how to mount the fuge above the tank.
Here are some links to fuge set-ups.

Hope this helps some and good luck. Fuges are fun to set up and maintain also.

Thanks yeah you didn't notice the sleeping bag in front of the tank..
just kidding, that a clock for the wireless controllers from radio shack. It can run up to 10 devices and you can see them plugged upp to the strip, they are the white cubes ( great investment and work every time) no more bulky dial timers
