Ok heres my specs. I would like to get some corals that are pretty hardy... I want to get good at getting the water quality stable and correct without killing corals in the process if I can help it.

29 gallons
175W MH w/10k Ushio
2x20 watt Super actinic 03's
Marineland Emperor

3" Live sand/Arg
Aprx 30-40 lbs of live rock

Torbo grazers, Blue leg hermits, Scarlets, reds, percula clown and a banded coral shrimp.

................ Can someone recomend some corals to start with. Maybe an location to aquire some online.

Thanks

I know I suggest them a lot, but so far they have done right by me... you might try www.liveaquaria.com or www.etropicals.com. Both of them will tell you how easy or difficult a coral is to keep (along with every other animal). I would recommend polyps, leathers (they do better in mature tanks though), and mushrooms. You can't screw up mushrooms, and they're pretty cool too :).

Good MO companies, but do realize that when adding "polyps, leathers, and mushrooms"....you may easily be adding some corals that can be very toxic, chemically, to others. Always cross-reference anything labeled as "hardy" with a good book like Eric Borneman's Coral Husbandry or similar resource(s) to avoid a hardy but chemically dominant coral. Especially when you are dealing with a small volume of water like a 29g.
