Well here it is . I mentioned earlier my new grow out system.
two 29 gal. long acrylic. Top tank has 250 watt 65 k mh.
bottom has 220 wat vho one white one blue.
im not sure what the overflow rate is all i know that it has a 950 mag return with a 40 gal sump with an eleven gal insert in the sump where the euro reef se5 is in the high side cabinet there is a refuge that is plumbed into the same return as the other two tanks and drains into both tanks.
what ya think your the first too seeit finished.
wow  looks good just that mh is sooo yellow

I think it's awesome, especially for a DIY project. Looks really professional. What do you plan to put in them? Sigh, I am at this moment very jealous .

Well the two 29 gal tanks were give to me for some frags. Then i set back about $500.00 for the start. boy i kinda lost track after about $800.00. i still need some more lighting i just got another 250 mh kit last friday at a steel the one i got on it now i got for $50.00. i would like to add some atinics to the top tank to help out on the yellow light . i hooked a 40 watt attinic to it but couldnt see any way it helped. i think im still gona light it about an hour before the mh kicks on. it has to help some until i get another set of vho. a cheated a little on the sump and the refuge i used a 40 gal rubbermaid for the sump and then set a nother 11 gal rubber maid in sice the 40 to set the euro reef skimmer in so i could have the return line dumping right into the 11 gal , and on the side of the 11 gal i cut holes in it so the water level would stay about 8" deep so the skimmer wouldnt be too deep. and also keep the water in that area to hopfully skim a good amount of the water before dumping into the 40 gal and then returning into the main tanks. the refuge is 3/4 of the way up in the right side cabinet and dumps into both tanks and fed from the main return. i did that so i would keep as much as possible any type of breeding foods and bugs and pods that grow from being picked up by the return pump. Almost all the sand i have in it is from a ten year old system that was tore down recently , i think that is how it cycled so quick. Sorry so long i get talking abouit reefing and i cant stop.
have any more ? i will try to make them short.

do u think sunlight will be a problem?

Well it could, im hoping that the way that my house is actually setting, the window that you see is positioned to the north east so it doesnt get a direct sun like it would if it were really to the east. it does get some sun and i have had some alga build up but that is normal on a new system. if it does become a problem i will put up a blocker or tint the windows something. I have thought of that . You would think it would be a good thing as long as you dont get a direct light on it . kind of a sun rise type of affect. i been thinking of timing the lights to the light coming into that area. just outside of that window is a deck and by about 2:oo pm the deck is always shaded. I will see what happens.
