I've decided to go on a PC for my 29 but i was wondering should i go with the 36 watt or 65 watt? cuz theres 2 for sale on hellolights.com and one is a 2x36 watt and one is 2x65 watt

I would definatly say go with the 2 x 65. It will be much brighter allowing you to keep a bigger variety of coral. Plus it will look better IMO.

I agree, the 2x65wt PC's would be the best bet. You could go with 2 50/50's, or a single 10/6,500k and a "03" actinic. Either one would even out to a crisp white/slight blue :)

well this is my question too. I have a 29 gallon also and want to make the correct light purchase. I am limited to canopy space though... mounting space is 10 1/2 " x 28 1/2" .... I dont think the retro fit hoods will work if I need more than 2 bulbs.... is a 65 watts enough for corals and in 29 gallon ?

I can solve all of your guys problems with the new T-5 bulbs. You can run 4 of them off of an IceCap 430 and they will be brighter than power compacts. The only thing that you will need is a hood that you will be able to fit 4, 5/8"dia. bulbs and sockets in. Let me know if any of you are interested. Trying to put an order together based on quatity. They are available in four colors.

Where can I get more info on the T-5...not like I need ANOTHER choice to confuse me, but sounds like a good option.
The t-5's...what wattages are they.... and as far as price...how much per bulb..Are the endcaps different than t8's or 12's? If so are you selling complete kits ......... in other words I would definately like to see some more info on what could be put together for my canopy with 10" x 28 1/2" mounting space.
Thanks
