Hi all.

I've been cycling my tank for 6 weeks now.... the cycle didn't really peak until the other week when I added a few turbo snails. (And one died  ).... When I arrived home tonight, I can see hundreds and hundreds of small white specks on the glass. Initially I thought they were dust on the outside, but they are in the tank and can move FAST !! They're all too small to get any pictures of... put they're definately some type of creature.

My tank is still cycling and therefore no fish to eat them as yet.... The levels are dropping, so it looks like I'll get my fish in a week or so, I'm probably going to get a pair of clowns when the tank settles....

Probably are a species of pod, likely a copepod. Do you have any pictures?

I recently had the exact same experience, Richard. But my tank has finished it's cycle (as far as my slightly color blind self can tell) and now I only see a few (in the sand I hope). I hope they come back, they were fun to watch.

Its funny I was just about to start a thread about the same thing.

What are these pod creatures, i see in my tank?

...... well i just looked a little deeper and found some more threads on the pods. Now i feel somewhat educated on them, but if anyone has anymore info on them please share!!

Just thought I'd mention that the pods are getting bigger!!

They're all over the glass now... I was wondering whether to clean the glass :) I think the front needs it!!

They started as white flakes and are now 2-3mm across... they move very quick!

I'm hoping to introduce my 1st fish at the weekend.... so they'll probably not hang about long :)
