Just wondering if any one is using a Ozone Generator.
And if so do you like it?

I've always had a question about ozone generators...

Ozone is unhealthy to breathe for extended periods of time, so where does it all go after it's been in the tank? Sorry if I stole any of your thunder there Iris, but I thought that this would be the best place for that question.

Ozone in your tank will kill everything. Do not put ozone directly in your tank!
To use ozone, you need a reactor. Most folks use their protein skimmer for this. Run the air for the skimmer through the ozone generator before it goes to the skimmer. A charcoal filter is required to filter the air as it escapes the top of the skimmer. Many skimmers already have a chamber for this purpose (the Berlin Classic does). Another bed of charcoal is required to filter the water before it enters the aquarium (or sump). The ozone is only present in the reactor. An ozone generator MUST be used with an orp controller or you will be in danger of overdosing or not using enought to be effective. It's a pretty expensive setup and not required IMO. Efficient protein skimming, adequate biofiltration and regular water changes will do the same thing IMO. Too high of a redox reading in your tank will cause abnormal growth in corals IME. I stopped using it. Gonna sell my generator on ebay..

I think I'll just stick with my skimmer
Can an ORP controler run a Protien Skimmer so it does not over skim?
