Pardon this one. But what will a Reverse Osmosis unit do for my tank?

Nothing, you don't use it on your tank. :) It's used to purify your tap water which is used in turn to replensish evaporated water and make new salt water. By using tap water you may be introducing nitrate, phosphate, or other toxins not to mention chlorine and flouride.

If you are ready to buy one, contact them and let them know you are from the ReefLounge.com Forum, and you will get a great discount, many members have used them and asked them questions. Very helpful :)

just remember when you are planning them, to figure a good spot (maybe in a basement?). You will also need a holding tank of some sort as well.
