These two pictures are of the coraline algae that I have forming on my back glass. The pictures are of just a small area, the back glass has a bunch of them. Coraline algae right? I read in an earlier post that this is a good sign, and even a sign that your calcium is good. Is that right?

Yep...looks like coralline  Congrads! And you are correct. Coralline is usually a sign of good calcium levels, as well as stable pH (in some cases). Usually grows best with lower amounts of lighting :)

this is a good thing and a bad thing at the same time I guess. Good that it shows calcium and PH are on the right track, bad because it is a sign of low lighting.

I knew that when I decided to go with VHO's vs MH.

I know VHO's will limit what I can keep in the tank. My next tank when I build my new home will have MH, but for now it will work!

thanks PH

Looking good and I remember when I saw my first bit, I was so happy, but now I HATE scraping it off lol

Not all the times it grows in low lighting, but I can only speak with my experiences. Mine grew like crazy with using the PC's, I would scrape the glass daily for coralline growth. Basicly, when I switched to halides, all coralline disappeared, not a trace left :| But, other people have had great growth with using halides with coralline :)
