It wasn't there before...but not sure if it is what I thought it might be. If it is, how likely is it that it will spread?

Now realize, I don't currently have any live rock what-so-ever in my tank. It was brought in I think through two mexican turbo snails. Cool. Is this a healthy sign? (too lazy to search very thouroughly). I assume it is normal a algea brought into a tank system, and that it just doesn't appear, right?
Am I crazy for getting excited about algea? Yeah, probably...I don't start my new job for another week. Man have I ever been bored staring at my tank for 6 hours at a time on top of the regular maintenance!

Coralline can be a sign of a healthy tank, but usually it's more a sign of good steady calcium levels. Usually it's spreaded via liverock, rather than livestock.

Has it started on your glass yet?

It can come in on snails. All my snails (Cerith, Astrea, and Turbo) have a good growth of coraline on their backs. As you add calcium consumers (Halimeda, corals, etc) you will need to supplement Ca to keep the coraline growing. Without said consumers, regular water changes are all that's needed to maintain Ca in the 400 ppm range.

Honestly it had to come from the snails. I don't have any live rock...at all, not even a fragment of a piece.
As far as I can tell, it isn't on the glass yet.
I do a small water change every week in order to keep from having to do such a large one once or month or every two weeks.

This might sound cruel. If you want it to spread quicker, you can pick up the snail and scrape the coraline with a butter knife. Dont scrape it off but just scrape it. It will speed up the process a little. Then you will notice spots on the glass and on your powerheads and stuff.
