What type of bulbs?
With that amount of power you can keep soft corals. As far as hard corals you might have some luck if there at the top of the tank.

The lighting that you can use really depends on what kinds of corals and anemones you are wanting to keep.

ok I just bought a 144 w compact florecent now they tell me I shouldn't get a clam dont waste money just go to home depot and get a core and coil 175w mh ballast for like 45 dollars the bulb for it would be like 60 It would have saved me money the only prob is how much heat core and coil puts off, and how much energy they take, It is a much better purchase in the long run though I really regret paing 227 for 144w compact florecent and needin better for most coral.

Which PC unit did you get?
Most corals respond welll to PC's.
As far as the homedepot HM You would still need PC's to suplement lights because there to yellow.

You only buy the ballast from HD. You get a 10000K bulb ($90) from an online source. I wouldn't worry about the electric bill. That;s one of the cheaper things in this hobby.
