What kind of eel?

Hi, thank you for reading this. I have a type of moray eel and I don't know what type it is. One person I talked to said it was a pepper eel, but the people who i brought it from said it was a snowflake. I have seen a snow flake... its not one of those. I can't post a pic but i will describe it. It is about a foot now and is like a dark brown or black and has big white splotches on it. Not little white dots but splotches and no yellow what so ever. Please if you can send me a pic of what kind of eel you think i have or tell me it would be great. THANK YOU.

Sounds like it might be a Tessalata eel. You might try checking here:

If it is any kind of an eel that gets big I hope that you have a large enough tank and the means to care for it.

BTW- thanks for posting that. I'm sure everyone will take a guess.
