I am just getting to building my stand and canopy this weekend but I am wondering what experience ot information people have here with keeping a few different types of fish. I have a 40 Gallon AGA Breeder Tank which measure 36x18x16. I have 2x 96 Watt Super Actinin Bulbs and 2x 96 Watt 12,000k Sunlight Bulba from Hellolights.com powered by an Icecap 660 Ballist (Before Tank is up and running I plan on adding 2-4 PC Fans to canopy). I plan on getting 50lbs of live rock and 40lbs of arogonite sand and 20lbs of live sand. For marine life I am interested in keeping (Long Term):
1)A pair of tank raised Maroon Clownfish from liveaquaria.com
2)A Sailfin Leaf Fish from liveaquaria.com
3)A Bulb Anenome from liveaquaria.com
4)1-2 Tigertail Cucumbers
5)A Mated Pair of Coral Banded Shrimp from drmaccorals.com
I am wondering what everyone here has to say nabout these creatures, chances are they are not compatible or I messed something up but I generally like to get anything I can get in a pair because IMO an IME with FW and SW pairs are much more interesting, active, colorfull and have a better personality. Some questions I would like answered:
1)Are these marine creatures compatible?
2)Is this to much of a bioload?
3)What would you reccomend for a diet?
4)Any other Marine Life you would reccomend?
5)What corals you would reccomend keeping with these creatures?
And any other infromation you have available

I have heard that the leaf fish can get aggressive. Same with the maroon clowns and anemone. Someone had an entire post on anemones I think that it was Pineapple House but I'm not positive. In any case the post was about whether or not you are ready for an anemone. It boiled down to (and I paraphrase), "if you can answer all of your own questions about anemones then you are ready for one." I personally wouldn't keep any other shrimp in the same tank as the coral banded shrimp because they might eat them. I'm not too sure about the leaf fish, but the clowns and shrimp should be fine to keep together, and if you're ready for it then the anemone would be cool too. My only concern would be the leaf fish, but that's only because I've heard that they eat whatever is dumb enough to wander by their mouth. I don't think that would be too much of a bioload as long as your tank has decent filtration. As for reccomendation of corals, mushroom corals should be easy to keep and so should polyps a brain coral might work too. I think your choices for corals are pretty wide open.

let me tell you stick with one CBS shrimp...if you even knew how many problems mine has created you'd think twice about just having the one...mind you i love this shrimp...
go for 2 peppermint's instead...

I lobe nthe look of the CBS and I like to keep aggresice fish and I think of a pair as more of a single creature split into two considering they are always together and do everything together. If I was to get a CBS or any shrimp I would get a pair just because a pair of fish is much more interesting then one fish. As for the leaf fish I know they can be prettry evil  but I always try to keep mone ebil fish just for entertainment and for a challenge I can't stand stupid fish that float around all day.... sometimes they scare me when I think they are dead they can just get plain BORING :!: I think the sailfin would be the main challenge in this tank and I want to raise one from a baby, as for the clowns I think every tank needs a pair of clowns just because they are so interesting to watch and relatively easy to care for :) the coral banded shrimps should liven things up but I plan to get them as small as possible and I want to try and teach them to hand feed. I had a freshwater mini lobster ounce and I had good succes hab\ndfeeding that as well as plecos, many assorted chiclids, and some stupid saltwater fish called a candycane fish that I hated  As for the anenome I really want to view the interaction between clowns & anenomes for myself and this is the sole purpose of getting one and I am doing ALOT of research on them. Does anyone know any clams that could be kept under this lighting because I am thinking of adding one after a year or so but want to plan ahead when I stack the live rock to make a good "hangout" for him. Also does anyone have any information on setting up a refugium, I have most of it planned out but am currently trying to figure out how to make it work so it would not overflow during a power outage or little sister unpluging (turns around and tells little sister to leave computer power cords alone, wonderw why she cannot leave powercords plugged in)

IMO i would say ditch the CBS they are extremely aggressive and will tear your other shrimp into pieces. If you want a nice shrimp that you can keep in pairs i would suggest the skunk cleaner shrimp. These shrimp setup cleaning stations where they will clean parasites off of your fish.
The maroon clowns a very nice fish, but are also very aggressive so if you want to get these clowns make sure you add them near last.
Also what i heard about cucumbers is when they die they let out poisonous toxins in the tank so becareful with them.
:D :D
