Just wondering is T5 of VHO better? and what would the cost on a 36" T5 package cost, I have an IceCap 660 Ballist and the wiring, I am hoping it is the same, and the endcaps and standoffs and stuff for VHO but my tank is still new and I have yet to buy the bulbs yet, could you give me a price quote?

T-5's are up to 4 times brighter than VHO's. The endcaps and standoffs are different due to the difference in bulb diameter. The cost for a kit consisting of a 36" bulb, 2 end caps, and 2 standoffs is:

True actinic = $38.50
Daylinght = $36.50

Any combination of 4 of these kits would provide you with everything you need to have T-5 lighting running off of your IceCap 660.

I am seriously considering this, the VHO bulbs alone would cost around $25 each and these seem to be much better, just wondering what the average lifespan of T-5 bulbs is?

Well, IceCap has had a set running at their distribution facility for a year now and have only recorded 5% color loss.
