6 weeks in and I have got cyano algae + a very dirty sand bed. Not so worried about the green and brown stuff.
But i've got green and red bacterial slime and the sand detracts greatly from the look of the tank. I also have those trapped air bubbles in the slime.
So I've read some of the threads on here - and thought I would run my solution by you to see if my plan is likely to work - or if you would suggest any variation.
1) some more frequent water changes (RO of course)
2) reduce the number of light hours from 10 to 6
3) introduce another powerhead to shift the sand and blast the rock
4) reduce (slightly) the feeding regime
I've got 10 or so turbos - a cleaner and blood red shrimp and a Brittlestar. My tubes are new. I currently have two maxijet 1200's and a third in reserve.
Whadyathink?
