Do you want this to hang on the back of the tank?

or does it go below the tank?

What size is your tank, and what size will the refugium be.

So far it looks like it will work well, but some of the pieces might need to be shorter or longer to help with the water flow.

also what are you gonna build it out of?

it looks like my tank is going to be around 100 gallons, and the fuge i think will be near 40. not sure on exact size, but it goes below the tank and will be made of acrylic. i have done some acrylic work in the past so i am going to make it myself , so i can make any changes that are needed, so i am just trying to get good ideas before i go and build the thing!

Thanks

What type of filter media are you going to use?

at the intake i was just going to use a filter sponge or bio balls, just to filter out the big stuff, then kent mud for the calurpa. I was also going to have a skimmer near the intake to the fuge.
i am thinking the bio balls would be better as to alow most small life to pass back into the tank.

Thanks again
