I'm currently set up with an icecap 660 and 4 48" VHO bulbs. I have acquired another icecap 660 ballast, what is the best way for me to arrange the new setup for maximum support of clams and aquapora type organisms?
Will 8 48" bulbs fit? Or am I stuck with 4 6' bulbs?
HELP PLEASE

Sorry, it's a standart 6' long 125 gallon overflow tank with a standard all-glass aquarium canopy and stand...thanks for any input in advance!

What color bulbs do you have? As in color.

You could go with 4 36" bulbs on each side which would total 380watts for each ballast. The hood would stick out over the side a little bit due to the room taken up in the middle from the caps, but you could get a total of 760watts this way rather than the 640 that you would get from the 4 6' bulbs. I don't think that you could fit 8, 4' bulbs side by side.

I have 2X48" Super Actinic and 2X48" Aqua Sun.
It looks like the inside diameter of the canopy is 72 1/4".
I am concerned 8X48" won't fit....and that 4X72" won't be a big difference.
I look forward to your recommendations concerning the bulbs, arangement, and color.
