Any ideas what crab this is?

I've read a number of posts and have'nt seen too many that were reef friendly. This guy hitchhiked on a piece of LR and has been in there for at least 5 weeks undetected. Only comes out at night.

I could be wrong but I believe that is a stone crab. :wink:

it is...(from what i see)...crabs are hard to truely identify, but looks like a stone crab or Menippe mercenaria

usually, red eyes = not reef safe...

But that is what that is...keep it in your sump or use it to start new setups (they are hardy little freaks!).
