i have an eclipse-2 hood with a .03 blue light and a 5600k can i put corals a be sucsesful ? or will a 10000k work?

You will still do fine with that if you are doing low light corals. Such as shrooms, most polyps, and maybe and xenia. These are NO bulbs right? If they are PC you are only limited to size and you can't have SPS corals.

why wouldn't lroo67 be able to have SPS? size wouldn't be an issue...

eclipse tanks have PC lighting in them...but you might want to retrofit a higher wattage ballast/bulb.

That is a sweet retro for Eclipse users, but unless it has come out in the last couple of years...eclipse hoods use NO bulbs and ballasts.

I have seen this before. im not sure about this one?so the NO is ok for shrooms what should i use ? 10,000k or 20,000k ? Do you now someone that has tried it?[/img]

Yes the NO's are ok for shrooms. Just think about where you place them. Also get what you want for the future so you don't have to constantly upgrade.

thanks. but should i go with 10,000k or 20,000k ? right now i don't have mutch room but i will be buying a new place next year then i can get serious.

The 10K is sufficient. If you have the money though go bigger and better.

the issue isn't size, but spectrum in kelvin...

honestly, i have no experience on the difference in how growth is stimulated under 20,000k vs. 10,000k...
