the LFS said this is a "tooth coral" What do you think? The rest is of the full tank shot. Remember.....the tank is only one month old! It's pretty bare right now.

Great tank Zayetsfoot. I looked closely and noticed that you are keeping a merman in that first shot. Seriously though folks, that is going to be a great tank once it's matured. What kind of snail is that on the back glass?

P.S. 1) Are those cinnamon clowns? 2) What kind of live rock is that? And 3) how long did it take for you tank to cycle?

Looks good Zayets foot!

And that's correct, it's a tooth coral. I think another name is Doughnut, or Meat coral  It's a LPS.

I agree with PH, it is a "Tooth Coral, Doughnut, Flat Brain" aka (Cyarina lacrymalis). Great tank, I like the rock work!!

thanks for the complements guys. It's nice to see some proof of all the effort I have put into this for the past 2 months.

The big snail on the back glass is a turbo snail. The clowns are tomato (sp?) clowns. The "manmaid" is me! I did not even notice that untill you mentioned it! :)

It took the tank 3 weeks to cycle. Actually I was able to put fish in it (but did not) after only 13 days. I think the 150 lbs of LR that I purchased made a huge difference.

I don't have the actual deminsions of the tank (I know that sounds bad, but I am at work and all my info is at home) But I can tell you that It is the same as a normal 125 gal, but taller. One note from me, I wish I would have went deeper (width) than taller. I am over 6 foot tall, and I still have to have my whole arm in the tank water if I want to move a small peace on the bottom of the tank.

One thing that you cant see is my Mushroom coral that is on the bottom front right of the tank.

The live rock is "vanuatu" I don't think I am spelling that right. it is pronounced VON-ah-on-two

You can see better pictures on my website

On the subject of the web site:
I will be posting this in a separate location as well as here. If ANYONE wants to help me out with articles let me know. I want to have a section on tank set up, tips, construction. There are so many people on this forum that I know can help. Please let me know if you can. As I said before, I will give full credit to the author and a link so that the reader can get a hold of you and ask questions.

thanks again~!

Phistio, I might just be hallucinating again... but didn't you already post something about acrylic vs. glass somewhere on rl? I have been trying to find it for a while now because I'm finally in the market for a bigger tank, and even though I know that acrylic is better, I'm trying to find out about the measurements that you mentioned for thickness of the acrylic. If I'm just imagining this then it's business as usual for me, but if I'm not do you think you could post a link to it?
